1 June 2011, Kuala Lumpur (Repost) - The flyer is out! The second First GM thematic chess tournament is slated for 25-26 June 2011 to be held at Excel Chess Academy, OUG, Kuala Lumpur. The theme will be Sicilian Dragon. It will be over 10 rounds of twenty minutes plus 30 second increment.

Excel Chess FIDE Rated lead by Jax

Here are the current results of the Excel FIDE-Rated tournament for the month of May-June 2011.
Jax Tham is leading with 8 points from 10 games and Bernard Ng with 6.5 points from 8 games. The Cross-Table of results is shown below.

Attention: KL Chess Open new fees

The Kuala Lumpur Open due in September 2011 has revised downwards its entry fees and at the same time renames Kuala Lumpur Open as Raja Nazrin Shah Masters and International Open Chess Championship 2011.

The prizes and entry fees were readjusted downwards as follows:

MSSM Medals Tally

The Selangor Chess Team won the Best Overall State Team chess with 120+ points in MSSM 2011 held in Penang. However, Wilayah Persekutuan team won the most gold medals with four, all of them in the team event. Meanwhile Selangor performed well in the individual events which gave them the three gold medals.
