MCF rating fees detail

With effect from 1st April 2010, a new policy guideline on National-rated and FIDE-rated tournaments will be implemented. Organiser that conduct chess event that is to be rated nationally by MCF or internationally by FIDE must get prior sanction from Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF). Event will not be sanctioned by MCF unless Organiser sends in application at least 14 days from the event date on national-rated event or at least 14 days before FIDE cut-off date (30 days before the event starts) for FIDE-rated event. Any FIDE-rated event sanctions by MCF will also be sanctioned automatically as National-rated event.

Organiser must get prior approval from MCF by submitting an application together with Deposit (refer to the table listed below) for their event to be sanctioned before distributing tournament pamphlets/infosheet that contains wording such as “National-rated, FIDE-rated, MCF-sanctioned event” to the general public. This ruling is to curb re-occurrence of past incidents that organisers misled the general public into believing their event will be submitted for rating purposes. Disciplinary action will be taken against organiser to be found violating this ruling. MCF will compile a list of sanctioned events and to be published at MCF official website (http://malaysianchessfederation.blogspot.com) from time to time.

Tournaments can be conducted in 3 formats i.e.  Swiss, Round Robin, and Knock-out format using Swiss Manager pairing program (for use of National-rated or FIDE-rated event) or Swiss-46 pairing program (for use of National-rated event only). Manual pairing system (including Knock-out event) or any other computer pairing program will not be sanctioned by MCF for rating purposes. The new pricing structure on rating fee as below:
